What PS3 game should I get?

I just pretty much completed GTA4, Burnout Paradise and GT5:p

I love racing games but I don't know of any great titles at this moment.
Motorstorm can be obtained for cheap, how is that? I don't think Motorstorm 2 would be worth the money.
I have GRID/DIRT for PC so those are out.
WipeoutHD did it come out? I've never seen it in store.

I have never really played FPS on a console, but that might be able to change with the right game.
Resistance 2 is what I was looking at in this category.

Been meaning to get Fallout3.. would that play better on PS3 or PC?

I don't care for online multiplayer games.. Something with 2 Player is a nice touch and a good excuse for me to buy a second controller.

So front-runners for new game:
Motorstorm
Resistance 2
WipeoutHD (?)
Fallout3 (?)

If you love racing games then go for WipEout HD. Yes, it has been released and it's only $20. At that price you might consider picking up both it and another game from your list.

Have you played MGS4..graphics are amazing, well built with no glitches..gameplay is great
Cutscenes are too long but just shows all the detail that went into the game

Is it easy to pick up? Its a shooter isn't it? I've never played any MGS games before.

Wipeout I will definitely grab for $20 along with something else. I used to have Wipeout 1, 2 and Wipeout64 :)

I'll probably buy either within the next two weeks or on Boxing Day

I'm about to beat MGS4 and it is the best of the series I think. I've played and beat each MGS and the story can get hard to understand at times. I can't recommend MGS4 since you haven't played any of the rest and it will leave you confused.

I've been quite confused myself with some of the characters in it because its been so long since I played the others.

MGS4. You can get the Metal Gear Essentials pack if your PS3 supports PS2 games and play all the old ones. Either that, or you watch the retrospectives at gametrailers.com that tells you the entire story.

MGS4 is the next game to get. GOTY material

Dark Sector is a fun single-person shooter and is only $10 at Newegg.

Fallout will play better on a PC if yours runs Oblivion well.

I don't know if I would recommend MGS4 without getting the Metal Gear Essentials pack as well. MGS4 seems meaningless without the context the rest of the series provides...

Fallout 3 is much better for PC in my opinion. The game is good, but mods will make it great, and the PC is where the mods are at.

Have you thought about Prince of Persia, Valkyria Chronicles, or Ratchet and Clank?

I never played MGS1-3 and it has been fun...I take it at face value and cant worry about the others my PS3 does not play PS2 games(Sony is a moron on this)

I have found the controls to be pretty easy to get used...since owning my Xbox360(which I never use my son has it all the time I never play PC games anymore..I really like the PS3 for graphics and selected games)

Also I would recommend Uncharted: Drake's Fortune...outstanding as well

Wonder why they do not allow mods on consoles....we have HDs and it would only add to the game's appeal

+1 uncharted drakes fortune.

other notables:

Ratchet and Clank
Heavenly Sword (short)
Assassins Creed (also short, and repetitive, but you definitely need to play this at least a little)

If you dig sports games, ive been loving fifa 2009.

Oh, as far as PSN games:

Wipeout HD,
Super Stardust HD,
Echochrome (most relaxing and mind bending game ive played in a while)

I agree. Excellent game, and not quite as hard-core as the first two were (grinding is less of a nightmare).

Midnight Club: LA. MGS4 is solid, and Prince of Persia is pretty good too. Low cost options are Drakes Fortune, Assassins Creed and Heavenly Sword which are all great, especially for the price.

Just finished MGS4 although a excellent game as the rest is some of the cutscenes are way to long which is the only flaw of this game IMO.

Assassin's Creed had and beat on PC already :)

No RPG's for me since I just quit WoW....

WipeoutHD
MGS4 <-- are the controls intuitive and easy to pick up for someone who has NEVER owned a FPS on a console?
Prince of Persia

I like the sound of these games

If you want MGS4 I'll sell you mine. I've played it for a total of 3 sittings and it hasn't left it's case in months since the last time I played it.

msg me if interested.

What about Midnight Club LA? And MGS4 isn't FPS, its 3rd person. Controls take some getting used to, but it works pretty well.

I think wipeoutHD is only available as download? Would explain why you have not seen it in a store.

Do Wipeout and Uncharted. Too bad you didn't ask this question on Black Friday, Amazon had PURE for like $15.

Definately MGS4 and Uncharted. MGS4 is an 'experience' the first time through. After that, it's just an incredible, yet short, action game.

Uncharted is great, worth a few replays. Cutscenes are short enough and well done enough to be worth rewatching too.

Farcry 2, I don't have yet, but I may pick it up if there's a post-Christmas sale with like 50% off.

Resistance 2, same as as Farcry 2.
