I downloaded a bunch and I've forgotten what each do... :Q
What prog will take an existing DIVX file and let me slice off the credits so it'll fit on a 700MB CD?
No, my burner does not support overburn. 🙁

<< VirtualDub is saying I'm missing the GAIN ad-ware.... grr... how do I get that again. :| >>

Hmmmm
Can you be more specific? Ive never heard of adware in Vdub,I been using it for at least 3 years.
Better check your source,Adaware Plus says nothing after I install a fresh copy of Vdub.Latest version is 1.4.10 ,get that at doom9.org .

🙁

I don't know... it just says I need the "gain" ad software to use the free version of the program. Maybe it's in the Codec software? I seem to recall having removed it at one point.... I don't know where to GET it again!

Wow

There shouldnt be any codecs or anything in Vdub.ONly codecs it uses are the ones you already have installed.
Also,it is freeware. You sure you got the right thing?

I bet you are using the free version of DivX 5.0, which has ad software.

Yea, you are probably using the free version of DivX 5.0 Pro that is supported by Spyware. If you want to use it without SpyWare you have to either pay for it or get DivX 5.0 regular.

Well, re-installed the DivX codec package that came with the necessary files. DivX 5.0.
Now the program works - but I only get a black screen.... no actual video.
If I do the edit and re-encode I wind up with a 70MB file of nothing but audio.... should I go back to DivX 4?

you dont need to re-encode. You should be "direct stream copy"-ing both audio and video. All you need to do is set the end marker (kinda looks like --> >| ) to wherever. then "save as avi" and choose a different filename.

When divx5 just came out i do believe there were some issues with it and virtualDub. Check doom9's website for latest files and guides. They're by far the best I've found.

you can also check out his forum for the best answers to your divx questions. otherwise check divx.com's forum as well.
