What Program Will Allow Me to Edit .con Files

Hello, I am looking for some help, i have a widescreen display and i am looking to try to take advantage of that in battlefield 2. I wish to run it in 1280x720@75Hz but that is not a default setting you can choose from. I am told you can add in your own resolution by editing the video.con file and I believe this site had benchmarks done from custom resolutions, so I know it can be done, Just looking for some help, thanks!

Any file you know they are text-based can be opend with notepad.
Since you know you are putting numbers in the file must be text based.

open it in notepad.

a.k.a. this is not highly technical.

for future reference, if you have a small file, try opening it in notepad first and see what you get. 9/10 (especially if it is a configuration file) it will be a standard ASCII file that can be edited in notepad.
