what program to use with a cross-over cable?

i want to off load some files between my notebook and my desktop, both have ethernet ports

what program do you use or can i just let win2k figure out the connection and i can share files between the machines?

you can just share the files and transfer them

you just have to set up an account in win2k for the other machine to connect as

Map the Drives (see windows Help).

After Mapping, you can use Win Explorer. Or any other regular file management programs.
