I'm currently running DC++, Firefox, Antivirus, Steam, and PVR software (no recording), and out of my gig of RAM, only 100MB is free!

WTF?

Is there something out there that allows you to see what programs are using what amount of RAM? Task Manager is a complete failure at this...

Windows will use your RAM to it's advantage by trying to find use for all your RAM. If there is additional free RAM it will be used to cache further files. You benefit from Windows doing this.

Free RAM is wasted RAM ;)

It's called file caching. I just put 2G in a Linux box of mine and after 26 minutes of uptime only 840M is free.
