I have a couple of PIII 700 @ 933+ . What program do you guys use to determine the lowest voltage a cpu will run @ say 933 and be completely stable . These are some of those primo chips from Compuwiz and they run 933+ at 1.85 or less . But I am only going to run them at 933 and I want to run them at the lowest voltage that will be completely stable .

What program do you guys torture test cpu's with ?

Thanks

Use RC5 or OGR or Prime95.. 3dmarks can do some loops,etc.. anything that does loops

for something different, you can always try CPU Stability Test from here.click other & it's halfway down the page :)

Based on my experience with my Celeron 366@550, 566@850, and 633@950, I have found that running some of these programs and the fact that they do not crash does not always mean the processor is stable at that voltage.

For example, with my Cel 566@850, I could run Prime95,RC5,SETI,CPU Stability Test, etc. 24/7 without the computer crashing. I could run Q3A loops 24/7 too, but UT would crash within a few seconds of running the intro (because it is heavily CPU dependent), and a voltage bump was required.

My favorite program for testing stablity is the UT startup intro with a second one (Prime95,RC5,etc.) running in the background. 3DMark also works very well.

Check out OC Tools for most of the programs. . .

I like to do a few things to test. I use a program called BurnInTest at the same time as lettting the computer crack OGR. Then after it does that for a few hours, I set up a bot match in UT on a huge map with 16 bots at godlike and just let it run by itself for awhile.
