What program should I use to convert Mpeg1>>>Mpeg2 so I can make SVCD instead of VCD?

I'm not sure if there is one but...just curious, is there a reason for doing so?

not that I am aware of. Just burn it as an SVCD in nero.

But if you already have a low-res mpeg1 image, re-encoding at a higher resolution won't magically add more pixels. If you have better-than-VCD-quality source material then encoding for SVCD makes sense.

I am just assuming that Super Video Cd is better than Video Cd...right? It has the word "SUPER" in it!!!😀 Seriously...if VCD 2.0 is no better than SVCD then I'll leave it alone. I'm a newbie to this whole video encoding thing!!

onyl would help if you have a higher quality mpeg file

SVCD is 400*400 res max
VCD is lower then that

nero will do the conversion for you.

Actually, I am using VCDeasy and it told me that this particular vid is Mpeg1 and cannot be burned as a SVCD. It is vid of my friends newborn, and to be perfectly honest..the VCD 2.0 is fabulous!! He asked me for a SVCD, and I have no answer for him (or me)!!!

Adul...you may be correct. I paid an extra $14.99???? to have Video cd & SVCD burning in my full copy of NERO.....I think.

OK, my post got locked on this subject. I'm looking for SW to make a vcd from an mpeg video. Why this thread wasn't I'm not sure.
