What program or process uses this icon?

An icon appeared in the Notification Area (system tray) very breifly (about 3 seconds) and disappeared.

I went to Taskbar properties and clicked Customize next to "Hide inactive icons" to see what program it could be. It is called "100%". It obviously completed something and disappeared. What program or process is it for? I have no viruses/spyware or anything like that.

This is the icon (it may have been animated, I don't know):

It does indeed but I only have an MSI CD-RW drive with no software. But I've had that for 6 years and never seen this icon. I have no MSI software, and the drivers for the drive are just generic (Windows).

the icon for sure doesnt come from nowhere...there must be some program starting it.

first, check whats running w/ msconfig (START --> RUN --> "msconfig" ....in the startup-section....and/or use "hijackthis" to see what is getting loaded....and/or sysinternals autoruns utility.
