If you have Oblivion, play that for a few hours at the highest settings your video card can handle.

Sorry, it's for a friend of mine. Are there any other freeware programs that I could use?

ATItool or something has a stress test that will max it out and show the temps. I heard it works on Nvidia too.

Sorry, should have been more clear. Not everyone has heard of it. Its a great little program, thats cool to watch, and puts the hammer on your video card. Its what I use to stress it, to check load temps.

I have found that I can clock alot higher and be stable in rthdribl than in a regular game. I wouldn't pick just one stress test. I don't do that with my cpu so I wouldn't do it with a gpu. rthdribl is good nonetheless but just don't put all of your eggs into that program.
