I was just given a Pentium 4 computer and was told that it does not work because the pins on the 1.6ghz processor were bent and don't fit properly in the holes. I looked at the processor and some of the pins do look a little bent. Otherwise, I couldn't see anything wrong with it. It powers on fine because I hear the fans, and the processor fan works just fine but nothing comes up on the screen and all the cables are connected properly so I am pretty sure the problem is the processor.
I'm not even sure what board it is but I have written down some information that appeared on it.
Inside the processor area of the board is written:
P45333-M and
PGA478B
I think that might mean it is socket 478.
Other information that was written on the board is:
ASUS A9m58 Mozart-2
SIS 961
On the processor itself was written:
Intel Pentium 4
1.6A GHZ/512/400/1.5v
SL668 Costa Rica
Intel M '01
What I want to know is how fast a processor can I get for this machine and are there processors that won't work with it?
