What problems could arise with wireless internet?

I'm about to go check out a friend's computer tomorrow who apparently doesn't have a working wireless connection up..and all I know so far is that there's a signal coming but "they cannot find the internet", whatever that means.

I'm thinking it's either router problems or he just has to set up the connection for a LAN..any other possible things I could try/look at tomorrow?

Well, signal is good, but you need to make sure that he's using the right SSID and WEP key (if his WAP is setup to use WEP). Check those two things. If those are correct, and he's getting an IP address (through DHCP or hard-coding one), then he should be able to ping things on the local network. If he can ping on the local network but not outside of that, then you've got a routing issue.

If he hasn't set the SSID that is most likely the problem.
