I currently have this model:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details

(Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 700-Watt Power Supply (RS700-PCAAE3-US)

But I've been hearing some bad remarks on message boards. I don't want the thing to fry my system as I could not afford another, but I cannot return the one I have now, so if you guys think I am taking a big risk at the Coolermaster I'm using now then I will buy a quality one, but I'm not sure which one to get.

What I have now:
Asrock Extreme 3 Gen 3 z68
Intel i7 2600k stock speed
Intel 3000 on chip graphics
Onboard sound
SATA DVD burner
64GB SSD
350GB 7200 HDD
16GB RAM

What I may add on later:
GTX 560
Up the RAM to 32GB when it becomes cheap enough
some case fans
Replace my 64GB SSD with a bigger one when they become cheaper.

I won't say never but as of right now I'm 90% sure I will NOT overclock even though I have a 2600k.

So, if the PSU I'm using now is really not as reliable as I'm being told, what is a good brand and watt to get?

Thanks for any help.

Antec.Enermax. My personal choice of Seasonic and Corsair's solid units.

700w psu is overkill for pc even with a GTX560. Check at the of the psu forum and read up on Jonnyguru's advice on selecting a unit. Also hope on over to his site to learn more.

It's not more about the wattage you need than can it supply the correct amp's for you intended use. You could go with a solid 550w Seasonic/Corsair unit and it would be plenty for you and provide clean and safe power to the pc.

Your current PSU should be fine. It's not what I would have gotten for myself, but if you can't return it, it's not like your computer will explode.

As was mentioned in your other thread, your Coolermaster isn't likely to wipe out your system. If you were considering buying it, we'd try to steer you to a better unit, but since you already own it...use it and save your money until you upgrade.
