What ports are used by MSN Messenger?

Hi guys

I need to set up a service in a Sonicwall Soho2 unit so that the users can use MSN Messenger. The unit seems to be blocking its messages. I need to know, first of all, whether Messenger is even usable with firewalls. If it is, that's cool. If not, I need to make it so that the program can be allowed by the firewall to access certain ports and so on when messages are being received and sent. Please give any info possible. I'm assuming that the protocol would be TCP/IP. 🙂

MSN Messenger uses TCP port 1863 for outgong messages. You can use Tiny Personal Firewall to find out what ports are used by all your programs.
