I'm really at a loss for what's going on here so I'm hoping some expert can provide some sort of solution or maybe an explanation.
Here's my story: I just upgraded my CPU from a 900MHz T-Bird to a 1.4GHz T-Bird. Everything seemed fine and dandy until I started running 3DMark 2001SE benchmarks. I wasn't getting quite the performance boost that I was expecting. I eventually found that the problem was with the vertex shader test. All my other tests are comparable to systems similar to mine (some higher, some lower). However, the vertex shader performance is too low. With my 900MHz CPU, the vertex shader test gave ~34FPS. Now with the 1.4GHz CPU, it only gets ~9.0FPS!! This is only with the processor change and no other hardware changes (I upped the FSB from 100 to 133)
