What performance difference for odd SSD/SRT upgrade

Hey all I have a slightly out of the ordinary question and it may be the case that the only way I can know for sure is trying but basically..

I setup my new system with a 120gb vertex III max iops. I split this into a 64GB partition for SRT caching with the remainder running as my OS drive. This has served very well for several months no issues and definite noticeable performance gain on the cached drive for game load times.

What I'm considering doing though is picking up a Samsung 830 64GB drive making that a dedicated cache and changing the vertex to just being OS.. I figure the dual use probably has some performance hit (not to mention wear) so it could give me a decent gain. And with Samsung bundling their 64GB drives with a game I have every intention of buying at launch that makes them a damn good deal for me (essentially brings a high end 64GB drive down to the same price as the cheapest ones available)

Basically question is do you think I'd see any real world performance gain? I'm sure I'd see benchmark gain but I don't care about that just real use. Other question is do you think the potential reduction of wear and tear on the drive might make it worth it? (for longevity take into account the max iops uses 32nm toggle NAND rather than 25nm that the other vertex III's use)

I know there would be some added convenience having extra space on my OS drive but I can comfortably leave 15GB free on that partition ATM (and there's the 8gb that's reserved by the drive itself) so that's not a huge bonus but still handy

Opinions? ^_^
