Sitting here looking at the 5 extra packs of ketchup I received with lunch and wondering just how much of the condiments produced go to waste?

At work we have a jar where we put the extra packets for use when needed, but at home or in a restaurant some gets left on the plate etc.

I know I've left "puddles" of ketchup on my plate after not having used it all.

Just wonderin'

a lot of it is wasted for sure and even if you try to save it, some stuff just cannot last... like honey mustard or bbq... the texture changes... I've checked. ;)

For fastfood, condiments % are usually from 1%-2% depending on what they count as condiments.
For us as a company, if we can keep it around 1.5%, thats very good.
Put that into perspective, a normal McDoanlds does about $200,000 in sales a month which would be $3000 worth of condiments.
