The NWN demo is okay -- if it doesn't get too repetitive, I might enjoy the full game. I haven't played Morrowind, but I've heard good things about it...so what do you think?

Online or Not?

Since you said preferably not, I would recommend Morrowind. However, completely time consuming...

My friend plays Shadowbane (MMORPG) right now and it seems pretty cool. However, I prefer playing RPGs on the console. Final Fantasy style... :p

Shadowbane is pretty fun if ya want an online one.

Can't go wrong with Morrowind though.. just be ready for a pretty involved game.. but it's hella cool :D

Preferably single-player..or with free MP -- I don't want to pay a monthly fee.
;)

I don't have any consoles..heh :p

I voted NWN.

But if you haven't played the best RPG ever created, go buy it now.

I'm talking about Planescape: Torment.

Meh, I wasn't too impressed with Morrowind, but I really got into NWN, it's a great game in my opinion, spent a lot of time playing.

NWN single player is average... if you want a really good single player, try Baulder's Gate1/2, and Planescape.

Gee two choices. :p I played Morrowind on the Xbox and it is a pretty good game. I have not played Neverwinter Nights so I cannot really make a choice between the two.

I miss the days of D&D and Mudding. We have all these fancy rpg's now but it seems like they are filled with obnoxious kiddies. Anyone want to start a D&D or Shadowrun game session?

I run a third edition D&D game every other Saturday for my friends and family. We're using the Ghelspad Campaign Setting (The Scarred Lands) put out by Sword and Sorcery. I haven't been on a MUD for about 10 years, though. I do play Angband occcasionally.
