I just bought a black case and thought I may as well spray the drives black as well. What paint is best for this kind of job and also how do I paint the face without possible leaking the paint into the drive itself?

Thanks,

Vinyl dye... and you need to take off the face plates... don't paint them while attached to the drive. :)

From what I've read Krylon Fusion is a good paint to use that you can spray plastics with very easily, you can get it from Kmart/Walmart/Sears/AceHardware/etc.

Stuff looks professional, make sure you do very thin, very even coats. The smell will kill millions of brain cells though, do it outside and don't inhale.

I used some generic flat black paint...removed drives, covered LED window and let it rip! two coats later I had black drives...If i had known about that krylon stuff i would have used it!
