I'm about to install Linux on my X40 as soon as my USB to IDE adapter gets here. However, I'm not sure of what I'll need.
Things I'm pretty sure about:
1. XFCE-compatible version of Wifi-manager. The default version is missing a GT2k library.
2. Power management stuff for the X40. Battery life is a big concern for me.
3. ACPI support for Linux. I also very much need the ability to suspend - I can't really get along without it.
4. Drivers for the stock Wifi card - I think it's an Intel 2100.
Things I would like:
1. Murrine or a similar theme for XFCE. This should work straight from the repostiory.
2. Some games - preferably, the the emulator that will allow me to run Baldur's Gate under linux. (It actually replaces the engine, and just uses all the BGII files - I've technically bought the game four times, if you're wondering, and have the CDs.)
3. A really good Wifi management setup.
4. A good music player.
Any tips from the Gurus?
