i'm loooking for better smarter NortonDiskDoctor type tools...for bad sector
scanning and handling. it occurs to me that there some i dont know of.
on 2 identical model drives only one has (FEW) bad sectors takes
NDD 9 hours to finish the good disk finishes in 2 hours..
the authors are stupid to think that over analysis of these tiny areas are so important
as to spend tons of time to be sure. upon the slightest hesitation from reading the
test data the entire block should or could immediatly be marked bad .
..not 20 minutes later. more expensive in loss of space but a 19.5 gb drive is
just as useful to me as a 20gb. if its fast and dependable.
Watadiag created a very advanced surface anlysis but does not mark bad sectors..
and i'm not going to manually edit the table with all that list.
