Alright what OS do I need to get or should get?

EPoX EP-9NPA+Ultra
OCZ 2GB Plat Dual Channel Kit
X2 4400+
eVGA 7800 GTX

Video Editing primary usage, gaming and internet secondary.

am i forced to get win64? or still can stay with XP?
IM NOT GOING LINUX... what other choice? I heard something about media center??... thats an OS???.....

some info for a nub pls.

XP Home would be the cheapest OS to meet your needs, as long as you don't mind the activation crap.

XP64 would be good for video editing when you have a large ammount of Ram, but driver and software support can be lacking atm.

Media Center would be ok if you want to use your rig for watching/recording tv and would do all the other stuff too.

IMO XP Home would probably suffice.

well, I have a legit copy of XP PRO which is better than HOME.

guess, I'll wait till 64 is improved b4 jumping to it now and getting headaches for it.

Iguess, my follow up question is, thoughts on XP 64 at the momment? how are people liking it, hating it.. pros vs cons...

It's only better if you need the additional features like ability to join a domain, SMP support, the NTFS ACL UI in explorer, etc. And since you have a UP machine and I would guess you don't have your own AD setup at home, it's really not that much better now is it =)

Your loss. And Windows Media Center is basically XP with a couple of extra apps for playing, recording movies, music, TV, etc. A friend of mine has a copy, I wasn't too impressed.
