What OS does the Xbox use ?

your n64 also had cartridges, which are faster than DVD's, and had to load a LOT less data.

Its running a winkernal for the powerpc processors. Microsoft is idiotic though...they need someone like me to slap them on their head whenever they do something stupid. They should have MP'd some Athlon 64's

Yeah. DVD (or CD) reading is much slower than accessing a cartridge. That's where the lag is from.
