What organization inspects restaurants for hygiene, cleanliness etc?

Just curious. The cafeteria at the place I work got a bad rating during a surprise inspection.

If the restaurants in my county got a health inspection it would be a surprise to me.

Thanks for the help. I'm looking at the local and state government health sites. I want to know the result of the inspection. I've heard all kinds of rumors though...:disgust:
