I was wondering what Orb to get for my Celeron 633 @ 950.
I want something to replace the standard intel heatsink and fan and I keep reading on this site about the Orb coolers and how good they are.
I was looking on http://www.2cooltek.com/ and I see that there is a Golden (one I keep hearing about) and a Chrome Orb.

My question is which is better?/Which one should I get for my Celeron on a Abit VH6?

depend on your cpu, if u have a slot 1 buy the gorb for the slot 1, if u have the socket, buy the gorb for the socket

The Gorb is a very well designed heat sink and losing out to Alpha FCPAL-35t by only 2-4 degrees. The success is due to the good heat sink and mounting mechanism design. Thermaltake also uses the best thermal compound available. (The white staff shipped with the HSF.)

I also found that the Gorb twisting clip to be better than the Alpha clip. The Gorb mounts perfectly flat on the CPU on every MB and slotket that I tried. On the other hand, the Alpha clip mounts slightly uneven on some slotket if the tabs on the CPU socket is not at the correct location. On those slotket, the Alpha actually performs slightly worse than the Gorb.

Tyical performance of Celeron 2 633 oc to 950MHz at 1.85 Vcore: (Deg above case temperature)
Golden Orb: 20F idle, 38F full load

The Golden Orb will not block any SIMM slot on most MB. You can get it for $11.75 plus shipping from All Star Shop.

They have excellent return policy. They will not deduct shipping from your refund when you have to return a defective merchandise.

The above discussion is based on a single sample of the items that I have. Your milage may vary.

the Gorb is excellent. good bang for bucks. going rate is less than $20 (prolly closer to $14) and it's really quiet. i ran C2 533@800 and C2 566@850 at 1.65v. for my P3, i have the 700 running at 980 with no problems (1.75v)

just tossed a gorb on my 633@950. Runs like a champ.
Bios and Sandra says CPU temp is 89F. That's gotta be a misread though as that seems WAY too cool.

Also have the GORB on my 600E at 800. Runs perfectly stable and cool. Can go higher but I have some PCI problems then.
