This seems to come up a lot on myspace, so I figure it is related to some teenaged TV show or movie.

Does anyone have a clue as to the details behind it?

I watched a made-for-TV kid movie recently (Nickelodeon?) and they kept saying something like that. REALLY annoying. The movie was about a young teenager that lived on a space station. Zenon? Xenon? It wasn't a bad movie.

I saw that and a reference on IMDB, but it does not give me a clue as to the contex of the name or quote.

I imagine it may very well be a made-up name that caught on with a crowd (young, preteen girls - which would explain the myspace usage)

Lapedis is not an uncommon last name.

In the movie the teenagers use it as an exclamation. As in "zedis lapedis this is a stupid thread!". They never say exactly what it means.

Winnar! Disney made a movie that only played on the disney channel, it was later released in a DVD. Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century was the first movie, Zenon: The Zequel the second, Zenon: Z3 was the third. The quote is from the main character. It was basicly like saying omg!

All from IMDB. http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=zenon

Lapedis is not an uncommon last name.

Maybe not in my family, but it seems fairly rare outside of people I know as direct relatives of mine.

Does anyone know any other LaPedis family members (not Lapedus, Lepidus, Lipedus, etc.)?
