What online trading company should I sign up for?

What online trading company do you guys recommand? I've had it with datek screw them they stole money from my account from day 1.

good question, My father is also wanting to sign up for and online trding account he wants to invest about 50k so he wants something very secure, he won't be trading much his investment will be more long term oriented. He is old fashioned will probably invest in Wal-Mart etc......

I've heard good things about Ameritrade but, thats about all the help I can give you....

So how is AMD, NVD, Kmart, World Com doing?

I've never had problems with my ETrade Canada account.

I've been happy with Schwab, but you need a good chunk of money from something like a 401k rollover to avoid quarterly account fees ($55K needed). ETrade is much lower, $20K.

I use Waterhouse but their prices have been creeping up lately. Now 14.95 for market, 3.00 extra for limit. Was 12 and 15 when I first went with them and I think they are going up in August. Havent had any problems though so all in all not too bad.

I hope so. I bought 5000 shares of WorldCom today.

BTW Ameritrade is what I use. They are very good.
