so they only way to get a CD quality song is to buy a CD?

I just deleted all my MP3's and am re-ripping my CD's in lossless.

I believe allofmp3 offers flac, I haven't used them in ages though.

Last time I checked though at $0.02 a meg or whatever they charge these days you'd be better off paying the $3 extra & buying the damn CD.

These days I use Yahoo music, when I run across something I want in lossless I just go buy the CD.

Yeah allofmp3 does FLAC/APE but the cost makes it unfeasible.

iTunes is 128k AAC as it always has been. Not even close to lossless.

So there IS still a use for those little frisbees :D

Maybe I'll go check out some of the used CD stores then. I've got a couple of CD's that I need 1 or 2 songs.

I dislike that I gotta buy a whole CD.

Maybe when connections/space becomes faster/larger they'll offer lossless.

Well, atleast you don't have to buy the whole CD through allofmp3....but like an above poster implied...the legalities of the whole operation are shady.
