I'm getting it for DJing with Serato. (search my posts I think I made one before about it)

I'm assuming there won't be much of a difference between the 1.4 and 1.6Ghz, but maybe between 1.4 and 1.8.

I'm getting a Dell so these are the price differences:
Intel® Core? 2 Duo T5270 (1.4GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache) [Included in Price]
Intel® Core? 2 Duo T5470 (1.6GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) [add $50]
Intel® Core? 2 Duo T7100 (1.8GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) [add $130]
Intel® Core? 2 Duo T7250 (2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache) [add $145]
Intel® Core? 2 Duo T7300 (2.0GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) [add $210]
Intel® Core? 2 Duo T7500 (2.2GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) [add $300]

Nothing wrong with getting the 1.4ghz if its gonna be a bare minimum setup (although I bet you can get one a little faster as a cheaper deal)..

If it were up to me I'd be very interested in the ones over 2ghz and with having the 4MB cache.. but I'm a real power user..

Get what your budget permits

Personally, I don't think the extra $90 for 200mhz between the T7300, and T7500 is worth it. At most, I would get the T7300 if you are on a budget, but depending on usage, the T5270 should serve you nicely.

Put in Laptop coupons for the search at google. I went with the T7200 2.0Ghz with 2Gb 667Mhz memory from HP 17" WS ultrabright. I should have customized it with 2x120Gb's seeing I added one to it (had to order bracket kit from HP too for $40 additional....) then I replaced the boot 120Gb with a 250Gb 5400 (all are 5400 rpm's). I use Ableton Live and it's my portable DAW. No dj-ing, for my dark ambient/martial projects. I'd stick with 2.0Ghz and enough disk space and memory in it (max it if you can afford it, you can always get an external case + HD or buy prebuilt USB external HD for storage/samples).
