Hey,
I just purchased my ASUS P5N-E SLI motherboard and was wondering what type of cooling should I get for my Northbridge (Nvidia 650i) and Southbridge chipset (Nvidia 430i)? I'm looking for relatively low profile and quiet while still being able to keep it cool. I was planning on overclocking my E6420 (with a Zalman CNPS 9700, reason why I need a relatively low profile Northbridge cooler). I'm also using a 8800GTS 640MB which will be over the Southbridge which also requires it to be low profile.
From what I've been looking at, these seem to be the best matches:
Vantec CCB-A1C
Thermaltake Crystal Orb
Evercool EC-VC-RE
The Vantec seems to push the least CFM but is the quietest while the Thermaltake Crystal Orb being the loudest and pushing a LOT of air. The Evercool is in between the two but seems to have problems with compatibility with some motherboards and the overall lifetime of the fan. I was just wondering which one of these would be able to cool my 650i (runs hotter than 430i and is most important for my overclock) and my 430i (runs warm, but cooler than the 650i).
Also, would you guys recommend getting the Zalman CNPS 9500 or the 9700? The cooling difference is minimal (but still allows for an average of 20MHz more on an overclock with the 9700) and the 9700 seems to be noisier than the 9500.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!
