;)

State judge let stand the 5pm deadline but said the SoState must consider updated or amended ballot counts subsequently filed after the deadline, though she has the discretion to reject those counts.

Interesting ruling. Dems are going to appeal, of course.

actually the Dems said they were happy with the ruling.
fox news

<< Former Secretary of State Warren Christopher said the Gore campaign was "pleased" by the ruling, which he called "tantamount to the injunction we sought" because he said it requires Harris to consider late additions to the tally. >>

Which means they are planning a lawsuit for abuse of discretion if she chooses to ignore them. Great.

Well, if she really wants to play dirty pool, since we are in unchartered waters........When must the SofS actually decide on the amended ballot recounts? If she wants to play dirty she could reject them just hours before the Electoral College meets. Let Gore try to "Stop" the Electoral College Vote. These ballots have been counted and recounted, and selectively recounted. I say let the count as of 5:00pm minus the absentee votes stand!

If the idiot who had the case originally hadn't spouted off within hearing of some people about his stance, the issue would have been decidedly Republican favored right now. Idiot.

Gather ye roses while ye may, Red. Any ruling would be appealed so it's only a delay right now.

I really don't want Bush as president (or Gore, for that matter...I dislike Bush more though), but all of these lawsuits filed and supported by the Democrats is starting to make me sick. Yes, it is important to find the truth, but after a certain point all of this litigation becomes damaging to the nation, both parties, and the candidates. I'm just worried that the point is getting closer and closer.

I for one am actually surprised there haven't been any severe confrontations between the Democrats and Republicans in Florida.

That's a good point, I wonder why the blue hairs haven't started hitting the Rep. over the heads with their canes and running them down in the streets in their Caddys in which they can barely see over the wheel.

So I take it Format C , that you have been building a crows nest in the backyard and making frequent trips to the sporting goods store to stock up on ammo. ;)

As if Florida is part of the South. Everyone knows that if you go too far south, you go North. :D

Stallion,
>>I wonder why the blue hairs haven't started hitting the Rep. over the heads with their canes and running them down in the streets in their Caddys<<

They have been doing that for years. It doesn't even get on the news anymore.
