What Next Gen System will you get first ?

what is not the point? to me, the point of a gaming console is to play games. xbox1 has more games i want to play. truly, this is not a tough concept to grasp.

before i purchase one i will decide if the pros outweigh the cons. when i look back on this past gen, the only thing that will really effect me with all these lame ass policies is the rental thing. they claim their working with their partners on this, but i am not confident that redbox will have anything for me to rent on xbox1.

ps3/xbox360 gen i purchased probably 45-50 games, and sold 1 of them - mgs4 because it was awful. BUT i also purchased it at $30 a week after launch knowing full well i could sell it for $30 if it sucked, and i did. probably would never have gotten it had it not been $30. i did purchase burnout paradise used, only used game i bought this gen. wish i had paid full price to support the devs though. i put probably over 100 hours into that game.

i also don't think i've ever played ps3 or xbox360 offline, so the 24h checkin doesn't bother me in the least. sure i think it's stupid as shit, but it doesn't bother me.

it amazes me how so many people cannot grasp the concept that all of these policies microsoft is putting in place don't effect or matter to everyone. it is the whole "OMG THEY DONT AGREE WITH ME THEY ARE IDIOTS!!!" mentality.

like right now in this thread you are trying to pick apart anyone's opinion that does not agree with yours.

Not really... everyone is just posting their opinion. Are you saying you can reply but I cannot? Not sure how you're doing anything different.

Also my 2nd post explained it in more detail, it covered your bolded point. You have a failure to assume it wasn't taken into consideration.

no but i'm not in here trying to convince people who want to buy a console why they should buy another one instead because they one they want to buy is "bad" or just bashing it. that is what the majority of your posts in here are doing.

and i'm not just talking about you, it's about 75% of the sony camp that is posting on these forums.

I'm not trying to convince anybody of anything.

Personally I'm still waiting... MS could rebound and Sony could release some bad stuff too... plenty of time for both. Right now we can only talk about what is on paper. The paper stuff and in-practice stuff can vary.

I have a gaming PC, a PS3 and an xbox 360. It's nice being able to play anything that's released and without needing to take sides.

I picked PS4 first since the X1 exclusive I care about will also be on PC (Titanfall), and the PS3 had more exclusives that I wanted to play.

The X1 has many strikes against it, but if MS can round up enough exclusives that I want to play, I'll get one eventually too. Based on the announced titles that probably won't happen until xmas 2014 or sometime in 2015.

EDIT:

on a more serious note, i don't see how it is unintelligent to purchase a console that has more games you want to play on it. it would actually be zero intelligence to purchase a console that has no games you want to play on it. that would be throwing away money.

It's hard to say.

I might just end up sticking to PC gaming and not getting a console.

I might get a Wii U for local multiplayer party games, since that's the kind of thing I like to do with a console. Don't care about online multiplayer or "hardcore" games, that's what my PC is for. But it might not be for a while. I have a 10 month old daughter and I figure she might want to play video games when she is old enough, but that's several years away from now.

If I end up moving away from PC gaming, then the PS4 would be my choice, but I doubt that'll happen. My PC is getting older but I'd rather spend $400 upgrading it than $400 on a PS4 and have to build a new game library.

I've never owned an Xbox. Halo was originally a PC game and one that I was really looking forward too. When Microsoft bought Bungie and made it an Xbox only exclusive, I was not happy and out of protest avoided the Xbox. Besides, always thought the Xbox tech as too close to a PC and would rather have a real PC.

chances are, if i get one at launch, it will be xbox1. not 100% sold on it yet due to their policies and all that bs, but the xbox1 has more launch titles than the ps4 that interest me. there actually aren't any ps4 exclusives that have been announced yet that would make me buy a ps4 at launch.

but i do have both consoles preordered, and i'm a console whore, so who knows what is actually going to happen. and november is my birthday month too and already told my wife bout ps4 and x1...

If you are dedicated enough to buy the Xbone in spite of the mountain of BS they're dumping on us, it would be wise to at least wait until they release the panic edition for half the price and good pack-ins.

the "mountain of bs they're dumping on us" hardly affects me so i'm not too concerned about it, as i've stated probably a dozen times in the past week.

if the price was a concern for me i wouldn't be interested in it.
