For newsgroups, of course.

Outlook Express kind of sucks. Forte Agent looks cool, but it's expensive. It needs to be something that supports yEnc, because every file, from drivers to music to any other legal binary seems to be encoded in yEnc, which OE can't handle.

What are your thoughts?

No one seems to talk about newsgroups anymore... :frown:

GrabIt is definitely best. (Note: Make sure you have a higher-end PC if you plan on checking out a lot of the huge binary groups)

Newsgroup porn sucks.

It used to suck, anyway. Maybe I should check it out.

It would help if my computer could download stuff without me having to click on hundreds of webpages to wake the connection back up.

Yes, after about 30 seconds, if I don't do anything, such as visit a new website, any download or anything will drop.

Uhhh... run a stay alive program maybe?

Oh and as for the original question... Grabit it is fine for simple usenet usage... if you're a heavy user, muiple servers etc etc BNR2 is the way to fly for sure.

Theres more to usenet than porn (albeit there is alot of porn).... seems to me there are countless 15MB and 50MB files laying around.
