What new WP7 phones are coming to Verizon?

Nothing has been officially announced yet. There was a rumor awhile back that Nokia would be bringing a high end WP7 to Verizon, but I'll believe it when I see it...and with Nokia World next week, I suppose we'll find out sooner or later.

So far, AT&T has announced a trio of Mango phones, T-Mobile has announced one, but that's it.

If Microsoft wants to start gaining some serious marketshare, they need to release high end devices across all major carriers.

I think that's something the Nokia deal will help with. Samsung and HTC have their own agendas to deal with, but Nokia is all in with WP7, so hopefully we'll see a lot more devices now.

Yeah. When I gave WP7 a try it was with the HTC Trophy because that was the only WP7 device on Verizon.

My only concern for WP7 is that Microsoft's attempt at being a mix of Android and iOS (variety of handsets, but very strict guidelines to keep performance uniform and optimized) will keep the platform's innovation slow going, too slow to catch up to Android and iOS.

Verizon never had much love for Nokia. And they only got one WP7 device initially. They seem to be sucking on the RIM, Android teats for the most part, I doubt they will bust their butts to get new ones.

We are more likely to get the first and best Nokia Winphones on T-mobile.

OTOH, it protects them from one of the major issues of Android, which is inconsistent performance and UI. Time will tell if the tradeoff was worth it.

I sure hope they have something new for the holidays, I would love a topflight WP7 model on VZW, I'm using the Trophy for now. By topflight, with the hardware restrictions in mind, I mean all available sensors (gyro, compass, etc), good build quality (no dust behind the screen like this one) and a pair of cameras with a sweet primary one. A nice 4" screen would be a bonus as well. Unfortunately I haven't seen anything yet either.
