What new games are around the corner?

My gaming rig right now consists of an e6600 overclocked to 3.0GHz, an 8800GT, and a 1080p monitor.

After beating Crysis and Bioshock a couple months ago I really haven't played anything graphically demanding at all. I'm considering buying a 7900GT and selling my 8800GT.

Are there any good games coming out soon that would convince me to hang onto the 8800GT longer? I guess I'm a little out of the loop.

Starcraft 2, Spore(both later in year) There are always new games.

But I have a 1950 pro if you want to do a trade + money and want this card PM me.

PC version of Mass Effect (May), the PC exclusive Dragon Age ("Fiscal 2009"), a revamp of the Witcher (soon?), an adventure pack for NWN2. That is about all that I can think of.

I'd sit tight with what you have. So you're ahead of the curve for a while, Means you won't have to upgrade again for a slightly longer time.

Bateluer's #2 standing policy is to never downgrade a computer. The #1 is never to use beta drivers unless necessary.

Why the heck would you downgrade? So the games you already own run worse and new titles won't run as well? Unless you're strapped for cash and really need $50, okay, but otherwise it's kind of a dumb thing to even consider.

Games for 2008

I'm looking forward to:
Empire: Total War
Dragon Age
American McGee's Grimm
Knights of the Sky
Spore
Armed Assault 2
Operation Flashpoint 2
Farcry 2
Alan Wake
Blood Bowl
Borderlands
Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark

What about Hellgate:London? ... it is beautiful in DX10 ... runs great on a Vista64 system!

Lost Planet is another graphically beautiful game ... it has been patched to run good on your card .. CoJ is also good but runs better on AMD cards ...
-keep playing!

If you haven't played COD4 singleplayer with that awesome setup yet, I'd give it a try. You could probably run 16xAA and 16xAF at high res and still have nice framerates. It's an awesome looking game too.

There is only one title I'm looking forward to, and thats the next release from American McGee.
If the videos are any indication it wont be a demanding game, but I still recommend keeping your 8800. Downgrading in the computer market is a BAD idea.
Technology advances so quickly and prices drop routinely.
Its not the same thing as giving up an SUV to buy a compact. You really wont save yourself any cash.

I'd hold onto the video card you have now... you may as well. That just means you can wait longer before you upgrade.

Your card will be worth more in the long run than a 7900GT would with the difference right now.
Like they are saying, if you don't need the extra $50 or so, then just keep the 8800GT.

I wish I had one right now 🙁

yeah right!

I was just about to say that

It looks like a fairly useless list. He just lists what appears to be EVERY game that's been announced. Sure it shows you what's coming up, but having to weed out the trash got old fast.

Come on, Political Wars? So Blonde? No. Just no.

Good points made by all. I think I may just keep my 8800GT now that I have an e8400 and P35 motherboard on the way. I'm also going to give Sins of a Solar Empire a try.
