Can you guys recommend some network equipment for me? I have a computer upstaitrs and down stairs and a wire wont work... What the fastest best valued product I can get to network (share files, internet connection, printers, etc?)

Thanks in advanced!!

I second Netgear, I am very pleased with it, never had a problem, installed first time and this was it

I think he is looking for wireless networking. I think they all suck, but Anand just did a review of some wireless crap on his main page.

You really ought to consider slipping a network guy or cable TV installer some $$ to come drop a line to the other room if at all possible. As they say, that wireless stuff may be slow, but it's expensive...🙁

Whatever you pay to drop some Cat5 will probably be made up in harware savings over a wireless setup.

I like Netgear for NICs and home use switches. However, if you need to go wireless I would recommend looking into Home PNA. I personally, have never used Home PNA. However, I have heard good things about the Netgear PA301. They have a USB PNA product the PA 101 which I have not heard anything about. I have also heard good things about Intels' home PNA equipment.

I really recommend PNA over anything radio based. I have used some of the wireless stuff and it's crap.
