Hello, everyone who please help:

Well, this is an auction company, and the staff are below:

Auctioneers Four (4)
Receptionists Three (3)
Stock Handlers Five (5)
Fork Lift Operators Three (3)
Site Managers Two (2)
Managers One (1)

in this auction company, there are two sites at different places.

There are only two computers at each site and are not networked , no data base, all paper work system, and only using windows 98.

And now this company requires a network, also , with a central data base to keep client details, auctions , etc...... which the computer from the two sites can get access to........

so what hardwares would be good for the staffs and network and where, and good prices.....??

Pls reply anybody, with any suggestion!

Thank you very much!

Your question is a little vague...

Start with this: what software are they going to be running to manage their data?

My gut reaction to the list of jobs is to say go wierless with 802.1x security. I'd look at RFID tags for inventory managment also. and Maybe a small VOIP setup to save bigtime on phone expenses.
Big intial set up but well worth the cost in a long term venture.

Hello, Thanks for Reply:

Well, i will be writing the software using vb.net 2003 for this company, and my problem is basically,

1. how many computers should i be purchasing for the two sites?

2. and how to hook up these computers to form a network between the two sites?

and basically, there is no budget set yet for this company, but i think best to go for non wireless, cause, it is quite expensive.

so got any suggestions??

Thank you very much!
