What Network Chipset in Powermac G5??

After searching around the web for a while now, I have been unable to find what network chipset is used on the Powermac G5 systems. I have an older Dual 1.8Ghz system and the only thing it calls it is Apple gmac+. I know apple doesn't make their own chips, so who does it for them?

In case you haven't already tried: Launch "System Profiler" and go to Hardware > PCI-Cards, then use the search engine of your choice to look up the Manufactor ID.

For example my iBook's RJ45 chipset has 0x14e4 which apparently belongs to Broadcomm.

I show nothing under PCI slots at all. I have to click on the main network tab under system profiler to learn anything usefull. I did do a search for the first 3 numbers of the mac address. 00:0d:93. Unfortunately, the search engine told me it was from Apple. So i am still out of luck and its driving me crazy not knowing! 🙂

It might be just as easy to open up the case and look at the motherboard if you know what you are looking for.
