Actually i'm on 54k miles -

I always get my oil/tires changed/rotated on time and I believe I had a tuneup at 40k.

Is there anything special that should be done?

Oh btw I have a '97 VOLVO 960 RWD

Look in the car's user manual. Should tell you routine maintanence and what is done at various milage intervals.

mine is a 2001 and i have over 45,000 kms on it

yeah, you should probably (if you want to do it yourself) think of doing plugs, air filter, plug wires, cooling system flush, and if its running fine shouldn't need anything else.. possibly check the brakes.. that isn't too high yet so no need to worry.
