Hiphop. It's fucking trash. They remove 75% of musical elements, then shit on the remainder.

I love hip-hop. You guys are probably thinking of DMX and Ja Rule when you should be thinking of A Tribe Called Quest, Digable Planets, and de La Soul.

I can enioy pretty much any genre except country. Blues is OK, but the (pop?) country where they sing about pickup trucks is just lame and like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Popular rap, the kinda shit that gets played on the radio and is full of shitty auto-tune. Quality independent/underground hip-hop I like, stuff like Deltron 3030, Binary Star, Hieroglyphics, etc.

Girly pop, or J-Pop, or K-Pop. Do not want.

Other than that, probably jazz. Maybe I'm too stupid for it, but it just doesn't appeal to me.

Country I'm not a big fan of but I couldn't say I'd NEVER listen to it.

I've already covered gamelan and country. I guess the only other music that sucks that hard is pretty much any crap music teachers try to foist onto their poor students.

As a sax player growing up, I was (Still am) quite into jazz. But in school, you had to also be in the orchestra to be in jazz band, so I here I am a saxophone player playing orchestra music, an instrument that generally has no business being in an orchestra or having such music written for it.

and that is the fault of music teachers. they are the worst.

Pink Floyd. They're absolute rubbish! ;)

Seriously, I listen to a lot of different genres of music as long as it sounds good. Every genre has artists / styles that I don't like, so I don't listen to them.

I generally hate how country music sounds, especially the singing.
Then there's garbage like neofaschist type "metal/folk" (like watered down viking metal, but shittier and no fun)
Also cant stand most Christian rock.
Never got into grunge
Not a fan of most 80s era glam rock
Could never get into Disco

Any country music. The old stuff just sounds simple and stupid, the new stuff sounds like pop with twang.

Anything that is not metal, classical music that sounds like metal or the Cats soundtrack does not exist

I don't like grunge music but I love 80's glam metal.

I am not into disco and the only Christian Rock I like is 1000 Foot Krutch.

Mexican music - whatever it's called

That's like saying "American music."
The Mexican music I grew to hate is "banda." We had Mexican neighbors who would crand that shit up on the gigantic boombox in their garage...then go in the house all day. Wouldn't turn it down until 10 pm. (City noise ordinance) Had lots of us in the neighborhood pretty pissed...then Modesto passed a noise ordinance that required the cops to write citations...as long as the person making the complaint was willing to go to court.
In just over a week, they had received 4 citations written...I went to court one time against them. They lost and were fined $150. I think subsequent violations cost them more. The parents of the residents actually owned the house...and they lost the house to the bank....the obnoxious neighbors moved out...and some much more reasonable people bought it...

Fuck making your neighbors listen yo your music...regardless of the type.

Ok. Who knows how many genres of Mexican music there are.
What I experience around here via loud stereos, has accordion frequently, acoustic guitar, and some singer blabbing tunelessly. Spanish radio stations play it. Every track sounds the same. That's all I know.
And yeah, ex-Mexs like to congregate in the driveway or yard and blare it loudly while beering themselves, and shooting the shit. Sometimes it's after dark. But my latest neighbor I think understands that his raucous habits don't jibe with the quiet neighborhood he moved to. So I don't have put up with loud Mexicano airs thumping well into the night anymore. I'm sure in Mexico it's just a widely accepted practice.
