I think his take on some of the music now which is just so so different from anything he'd ever heard, would be amazing.
He would probably be appalled by what he hears, have a violent seizure and go into a catatonic state. And then some rich people will keep him alive in a vegetative state on indefinite life support. So he would live from age 36 to well over 100, with the darn music playing over and over in his mind until he dies. That's what we would do to the musical genius named Mozart.

Movie? Not sure I'd know what to list.

Series?
Ender's game as a 10 EP season
Dark tower series, which is apparently on it's way. 1 season per book.
Maybe gormenghast if they can get the right cast for it. It would probably have to be animated or cgi though. Too weird to do live action.

Sucks that the movie had no sequels.
Imho the other books don't lend themselves as well to a treatment, at least not of the same genre and style of the first one. You could almost do them as a totally separate series but they depart significantly from the 'feel' of the first imo.

All that said the movie missed most of the point of the book, was barely recognizable. A common complaint of book to movie translations though, and good reason not to do it.

Gormenghast would be tough. It’s such a weird series. Getting the weirdness right without ending up with unwholesome weirdness, ala Jim Carrey movies, would require a very thoughtful director.

It was entertaining, but mostly just his "greatest hits" were featured, although starting the 27th symphony was a decent sampling of earlier Mozart.

Really, imo, some of the Concertos or movements that would have had Mozart as the soloist is the closest a listener will get to his personal style and not writing for a more mortal performer.
The Haffner Serenade's first Andante is one of the more striking, heart-hitting works. This work had some personal motivations to put in a little extra effort, as it was wedding music for one of his close friends, Sigmund Haffner. The first two movements will induce substantial attention from the listener, the rest of the work is a little less inspired and more expecting that the audience has moved on.

The only issue is that for the keyboard concertos....you're dealing with classically trained pianists, so it is going to be very likely that some movements will be rather not up to snuff but sometimes that same pianist strikes gold in one section. Examples for me include the 17th with Barenboim. Not very likeable for almost the whole work, but the Presto finale, there hasn't been a performance that I find to be equal in getting that "opera buffa style" down. Ironic, because Barenboim is usually a killjoy when he conducted Figaro.
Murray Perahia managed give the most life to the first movement of the 13th piano concerto, which is rather hard to do as its bit on to the lower tier of quality by Mozart's standard. He's rather "boring" in other performances.
The concertos bring a meeting of the "static"(orchestra players have to follow the score) and the "flexible"(Mozart could improvise and likely varied things based on his mood)

That depends. He pushed the limits of his time, even though it was brief, with the opening of the Dissonance quartet, which was anything but according to convention, and most definitely would have offended the senses of the time.

There are already way too many shit movies created by people reaching for golden rings, exactly what this thread is all about but those discussions aren't seen/heard by us unless the projects get far along, or more likely until after the fact, after the movie is made.

So much is in the mill being ground, rehashed, scripts are written, rewritten, distributed here and there, many projects are in the works, sometimes for a decade or more. Producers come and go, directors are selected, then jettisoned and another director taken on, actors are selected then rejected, replaced, etc. etc. etc. Why waste 2 brain cells thinking of these things. Don't you get tired of all the rehashed ideas?

A Home Alone 2 spinoff about the life of the pigeon lady and before she ended up on the streets. She could be some badass undercover FBI agent or something.

I agree, I was thinking a series like Downton Abbey, but like, stop motion, directed by a young Tim Burton.

Anything character-driven instead of a constant explosion fest with the only purpose of the characters being to segue to the next VFX sequence

Starcraft!
Fun story, in high school we had open writing at the beginning of our English classes like once a week, I'd write it 'short stories' of the StarCraft 1 mov's. Did all of them, even the goofy non-plot ones (That's a zergling Lester!). English teacher freaking loved me! Thought I was coming up with all these kick-ass sci fi stories. Aced the class and I'm pretty sure it was because of those. I'll not very creative but very good at ingesting and regurgitation information which is probably why I'm a good sysad instead of a bad programmer.

WAY too complex and twisted a story even for streaming IMO .... but maybe my all-time favorite science fiction series. It's a gut-wrenching read to put it mildly!

I recall one year I gifted somebody here the entire series for "Secret Santa" .... sadly I have no idea who it was anymore!

;)
I assume you've read some of Dan Simmons other works, if not, i love his Ilium series quite a lot too.
The Terror is generally rated a lot lower, but i LOVE that novel a lot as well. They made a TV series based on it, but I havent gotten around to watching it yet.

Like post on ATOT? ;)
I hear ya. Depends how you do it. A lot of the time it awakens my creativity, exposes me to things I was not aware of, helps me solve problems. Those things are not a waste of time.

I'll tell you one thing... I do NOT hang out in this thread! Most of the posts here don't engage me.

well my boyfriends at Red Letter Media have stated this a couple times but they need to stop remaking good films. Take a shitty film that had some good ideas and make it properly.
E.G. The Hobbit.
