I got talking to a friend of mine and I tried to describe a movie to him but neither of us can remember the name. Actually he doesn't even know what im talking about. But hopefully one of you guys can help.

IIRC the movie came out in theaters around the same time as Narnia. The movie was a action flick that was all subtitles. I remember it taking place mostly in the middle east and the main character was a spy of sorts. He would talk in their language throughout the movie. I remember that at the end of the movie you had a caravan of cars driving on a desert road and it was the target of a mission to kill the two main people of that country (like the president and his wife).

I just remember not liking the movie but that was mainly due to the fact that i wanted to watch a good action movie and not have to read so i didn't give the movie much of a chance. And I think i actually fell asleep during half of it which would be why I don't remember much of it.

Sounds like Syriana to me. But it wasn't 100% subtitles.

Sounds like Syriana for sure. Although, if he slept through parts, he could easily think the whole movie is in subtitles.

In Syriana he talks in subtitles at the start of the movie, but not later, so if you fell asleep in the middle you may have gotten that impression.

Syriana is a good movie, but it's a mistake to go in expecting an action movie. It's from the writer of Traffic, so if it's a twisting movie with multiple characters that attempts to show a problem from many viewpoints.

Syriana. If you have a sub, make sure it's not in "sleep" or "powersave" mode. The sub only gets a workout twice the entire movie. If the sub is not on, then you'll miss the impact of both scenes, especially the last one.

Syriana was one of my favorite films from that year. Not quite as good as traffic but much better than Crash in every way conceivable.
