what mouse to buy with my new laptop?

i'm curious as to what mouse everyone would recommend for my new dell e1505 with bluetooth.

i've read up on the bluetooth mice and they all seem to suck, with disconnection problems and really high prices.

obvioulsy if i could get one to work, and not have to use a dongle, that would be the best option.

has anyone had any luck with bluetooth?

or would you recommend i go with a wireless rf mouse, such as the logitech 610 or g7? the key features i'm looking for are a tilt wheel and thumb buttons, not to mention a small receiver/dongle.

any ideas?

First off, all dongles suck so avoid them if you have internal bluetooth. Yes, notebook style bluetooth mice are expensive and rarely have any deals on them. My biggest gripe is the lack of battery life on these things. My targus bluetooth gets about 3-4 days max with 850mah AAAs -- that's with 8-12 hours of usage on the computer per day. I just leave the battery cover off since I have to swap them out so often. Personally, I would look for a mouse that could be internally recharged by just attaching to a USB port, and ideally the mouse could still be used in wired mode when doing so.

I use an MX510 with my laptop. No big wireless dongle to worry about, no batteries wearing out, no connection problems to worry about, it just works. Get the wired version, it really takes the hassle out of being mobile.

What is the advantage of bluetooth over a conventional wireless keyboard/mouse?? The prices aren't attractive.....

If ur laptop supports bluetooth u dont need a dongle/reciever. compact solution sounds great in theory. dunno how well it really works out.

The dongles are very small now, the 3000/6000 notebook mouses are very nice, and it might be worth checking out the Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth.

I wouldnt buy anything bluetooth though, it isnt worth the hassle.
