well, sometimes, what you like best isn't what you have right now.

in my case, i like MS intellieye 3.0 mouse best, but because it's wired, i use wireless explorer, and it doesn't fit my hand perfectly.

right now i use

MS desktop wireless Pro (natural keyboard) and wireless explorer. (the station works w/ it)

but i'm changing the mouse to wired 3.0 pretty soon.

wanna hear what everyone uses!

I like my MS Intellimouse Optical 1.1A(6000Hz scanrate) for general Windows usage and my Logitech FirstMouse 3-button for gaming. I might be weird, but I just can't stand a scroll wheel for gaming, but can't do w/o it otherwise :)

i use the viewsonic slim keyboard for normal usage.. when gaming, i switch over to the logitech access keyboard because i like to game with the traditional style cuz i'm more use to it...

for mouse, i use the mx500 and couldn't imagine using a better mouse.. except maybe the mx700.. but i'm perfectly happy with my mx500

Keyboard: Fujitsu 4725. I just like the feel of it.
Mouse: Logitech Mouseman Wheel (USB version of the original Mouseman+, not that blue thing with the smaller buttons). Most comfortable mouse I've ever used.

Forgot to include the keyboard, definitely the IBM Model M which I'm using now :)

Mouse: Logitech MX500 --> No description needed

KB: NMB RT2257 --> The NMB keyboard seem to have the best "feel" and response of all the brands I have used. My first experience with it came when a NMB keyboard came with an Integraph workstation system that I used at work. Since then, I have ordered several and love them. They are dirt cheap too ($10-15).

Keyboard: Datadesk Smartboard. The only one that has the keys arranged the way human fingers work, not how mechanical typewriters worked 100 years ago. http://www.datadesktech.com/desktop_sb.html

Mouse: Logitech Pilot Optical. I dislike the MS mice because their feet tend to collect dirt very quickly, while the Logitech ones don't ever, seemingly.

Keyboard: IBM Model M (the big, heavy, clicky one :D), PS/2 version. Manufactuered 1991. Bought off eBay for $10 :)

Mouse: Logitech B69 Optical with Clear sides and bottom. I've modded this mouse with a header inside that allows me to swap sensor LEDs whenever I want. I change to a different color LED every few weeks :D Bought off NewEgg for $12 nearly a year ago.

i'm a little surprised that not more people use natural keyboards. i use the ms natural pro. its great. SO much more comfortable than regular keyboards. (its been discussed to death, but just give it a week =) ) it might suck, though, if some of your fingers reach for the wrong buttons or a certain game requires a buttload of buttons that your left hand cant reach.

i am using the microsoft optical intellimouse, the ones with the big buttons. its pretty neat.

as an aside, if you do insist on using a normal keyboard, save your hands by learning how to type in dvorak.

As I said above, all those "natural" keyboards aren't. Particularly for the left hand, the slanted columns of keys are just plain unnatural, lots of lateral finger movement required. I changed from an MS Natural (and a Chicony ergo at home) to two Smartboards. Won't look back. You'll know the difference when you've used the latter for a while and then have to use the standard key arrangement on someone else's computer.

maybe when the smartboard comes down in price, i'll give it a go =). i still think that the ms natural keyboard is MUCH better than regular keyboards, probably the only reason being the split in the middle. when i go back to normal keyboards, it hurts so much.

Yes, the split and angled halves bring the wrists into a straight line, but actually make the problem for the left hand fingers worse.
Besides, the Smartboard has a much lighter keystroke force than most other keyboards - that's mostly because it isn't using a silicone mat for the key action, it still uses real switches, one per key. Microsoft's have a particularly high keypress force, something that is Not Good when you're typing a lot.

OK, so the smartboard is $70 - but it's worth every cent of it. Even still when shipping, customs and tax have been added (I'm in Germany). You'll never even want to look back.

Ack... "Natural" keyboards.... After typing on a standard QWERTY keyboard for 13 years I cannot adjust to those split keyboards. I had one for about a week and tried to force myself to get used to it. I kept trying to hit keys in the middle of the keyboard :(

I will use my IBM Model M as long as there is some way to connect it to my computer :D (I already had to do a mod on it so it would function with a PS/2 to USB converter. It involved adding a resistor to the controller board inside to bring the keyboard better inline with PS/2 "specs")

Another vote for the Model M keyboards here. I've got a stockpile of them (insert sinister laugh here). The tactile feedback is great, and so is the ability to annoy everyone within earshot. :) My boss still doesn't know what the annoying clicking noise that someone keeps making during our conference calls...

As for the mouse... Razer Boomslang 2000 all the way... XP drivers are finally here, and my mouse rocks once again...

I have used the IBM Model M, my favorite keyboard.. and where I got my username from :)

Unfortunatley, I accidently dropped the one I had and totaled it. I purchased two off ebay, but they weren't functional.. doh! So right now I'm using a NMB RT-8255CW, also and excellent keyboard.

My mouse is one of the Microsoft Optical ones.

I am using MS Wheel mouse optical and I am using generic keyboard that match with mod case.
