Have an mx500, bought an mx1000 last night and I think I am going to return it and get the mx510 with a good pad. Not that I dont like the 1000 but I think for gaming I can get the same performance if not better from the 510 + a good pad.

I`ve the best corded mouse(Razer Diamondback) and best cordless mouse(Logitech MX1000) so best of both worlds 🙂.

I would get her wireless. since she doesnt play games its nice. but does she know how to charge mouse up and stuff do they make charging for keyboards too?

the mx510 is heavy, heavy cord, dont like shape, you arent really gonna use the bottons on top for gaming or anything. its pretty much a pointless mouse to get. i got a red one returned in 10 days.

TracBall is the way to go! I do a lot of gaming and play all of my 1st peson shooters with a tracball and joystick. No keyboard mouse for me, its just not as accurate. That being siad . . . Go for the Kensington Expert Mouse. Comes corded or wireless. Who wants to move their mouse all around when you can have a stationary ball the size of a pool ball. Plus its better for preventing carpal tunnel syndrome.

Just switched from the Logitech wireless to the MX510, and I like the 510 a lot better, mostly because it's lighter, so it glides with very little friction.
Also, the left and right buttons on the MX510 are easier to activate. It's especially nice for using mouse gestures.
