What mouse and keyboard would go well with the MacBook?

I don't need wireless or bluetooth. But the wireless mighty mouse looks nice, and the bluetooth version is way too expensive. Also, I don't need them for gaming. =-)

I don't know why everyone thinks the bluetooth mighty mouse is so expensive. Aren't all bluetooth mice just about the same price?

Anyways, I have the apple keyboard with two usb ports (1.1 only) and my trusty ole Logitech mx500 hooked up to my MBP. IMO, the Apple keyboard has the keys too close together. But everything works fine and I'm quite productive with it.

Just use whatever keyboard and mouse you're comfortable with. I use a Microsoft USB Intellimouse with my iMac. Priced at just $10, it puts the MightyMouse to shame in terms of useability and price. The Mighty Mouse has a blood-pressure raising tendency to confuse right and left mouse clicks... and it's small and flat. Mine is destined for ebay. The Apple wired keyboard is pretty nice, but the ancient standard keyboard that I use on my PC feels just as good, if not better. If I were buying a MacBook today, I'd probably get an Intellimouse and an Apple keyboard for it. The mouse because it is just plain better; the keyboard because of the design and the Apple, Option, volume and eject buttons. A nice and cheap bog standard MS Keyboard is a nice option too.

I think I'll probably get the MAC keyboard when I get the MacBook. But I heard that the wireless mighty mouse uses up power pretty quickly. That's why I don't want wireless. But I guess the mighty mouse with the cord would be nice too. Thanks for your input!

Jeez... $70 for a mouse? That's a little extreme.

People pay it all the time for gaming mice though ;P

I know I did when the G5 first came out. My rationale is, a mouse is a human interface device that I will be using all the time, every day, to use my computer. Might as well have the best. You wouldn't skimp out on a videocard or a monitor right? Why stop there!

Gaming mice aren't that much, are they? When I was looking for a mouse, the Logitech G5/G7 were around $40 - $50 and I got my MX518 for $35.

No prob. But for the record, I'm recommending Microsoft's Intellimouse over the wired Mighty Mouse. I've used both and find the Intellimouse to be much better.

That's a logitech mouse and you can get it from newegg.

And I think I might have jinxed myself. My Apple keyboard is broken due to small, miniscule, barely perceptible amount of coffee that was spilled on it this morning. The capslock key stopped working and everything is all caps. I mean I sneeze more moisture than I spilled on the keyboard.
Anyways, I'm typing on an old Microsoft "Internet Keyboard Pro" which is like 6 years old and crufty and nasty, but it still works. I'm headed out to the Apple store tonight to look at some wireless keyboard/mice combos. Microsoft and Logitech have some for the mac for about $100. It's not Bluetooth, but it's better than my clunker I'm using now...

He probably means Logitech V270.

Personally, I would probably get the V270 and the Apple Bluetooth keyboard.
