What motherboard to use nowadays

What are people using for a motherboard nowadays? I do not like the idea of losing so many interupts that you lose on the newer motherboards. I do not want a board with AC97 audio, video, modem, network, etc. on it and would prefer to be able to disable acpi to free that interrupt. My older Aopen AX6BC is a solid board, but the newer ones seem like they eat up all the interrupts right out of the box. Any suggestions would be helpful. Sorry I am so picky, also only want an intel chipset.:disgust:
