What motherboard to get?

I'm going to be renovating my system soon, with a 8800GTS G92, 2 gb of Crucial Tracer RAM (@DDR2 800 stock), and an e8400. However, I am still up in the air about what motherboard to get. I've heard that the EP35-DS3L is identical to its predecessor as long as the Dynamic Energy Saver is not installed. However, I don't want to buy it if the P5Q would prove to be more reliable/be better overall as it is only 30$ more due to the 20$ combo deal with the P5Q/E8400 going on. Initially, I will probably not be overclocking my system during the first few weeks; although I might OC my system after I get everything up and running. The main thing I am looking for here is reliability - (my current ASUS P5N-E board has been nothing short of a nightmare) and I'm willing to give ASUS another shot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

I have been looking at a similar setup with an E8400 and the gigabyte board you mention. Want to stay far away from the nvidia chipsets.

I've been wondering if the new processors from intel are going to be switching socket types in september or whenever they come out. Being able to swap a processor down the line sounds appealing but it looks like they may retire the lga775 socket.

I'm sure you would like the P5Q Pro. It is a very nice board, and Asus includes MANY bells and whilstles. I've had zero problems setting mine up 🙂.
