What motherboard should I get?

I am looking at the K8T800 but am not sure exactly if that is the best board. It has a VIA chipset and I read around that Nforce chipset is the way to go. If you guys could lead me into in the right direction, that would be great.

Err, get the new VIA K8T800 PRO. It has the new 1000 HyperTransport and it has a true AGP/PCI lock. You can read about it on anandtech. You def. want this board for the added stability of the AGP/PCI lock (especially if you plan on overclocking) and the faster hypertransport. shouldn't be much more expensive than current K8T800 or NForce 3 boards.

do you plan to OC or not? thats the question....if not, the MSI Neo is a great board with the Cool and Quiet feature...or the Asus KV8 is a really stable board too....if you do want to OC, get what Connoisseur
said, or a nforce3 250 board....both seem to be very stable and decent OC'ers....there ya go!

thanks alot, i really do not plan on oc'ing and you basically summed it up for me. Which would get ASUS or MSI

i like MSI, have built 3 A64 systems with it and have been trouble-free and 100% stable with it 🙂 nice board and a great price...if you want a A64 system now, go for one

A-Open AK86-L, nice mobo, the K8T800 Pros aren't even out yet I believe, and won't be out till socket 939 is out which is in June. I'd recommend the A-Open board.
