What motherboard for a Duron 600?

I am thinking about picking up a duron 600 and was wondering what would be a good (preferably inexpensive) motherboard for it. I have to admit that I am new to AMD so any help would be great.

Unfortunately most AMD motherboards aren't "inexpensive" compared to some PIII/Celeron ones. But since the motherboard is literaly the heart of your computer you DON'T want to skimp on it.

I'd recommend either the ASUS A7V or Abit KT7. I've got the A7V and it rocks. My Duron 600 is running at 800 MHz just fine. You can read Anand's reviews on them:

ASUS A7V

Abit KT7

Hope this helps. :)

I went with Abit's KT7 mobo and I'm very happy with it. My Duron 600 is stable at 900MHz.

Asus A7V or Abit KT7. The A7V was cheaper the last time I checked (not recently), and neither board is as cheap as the ones for Intel chips.

Of course, the CPUs by AMD are ridiculously cheap and easily overclockable, so what's the worry of paying an extra $20-$50 for a mobo?

I am all for the A7V, nice jumper settings, leave it and never have to worry about it again.

The A7V works great with my duron 600 running at 950 (9.5 x 100).

I have the Asus A7V and I'm having various random minor problems with my computer. I'm moving towards blaming these issues on the mobo. However, it is still a good mobo and both the A7V and KT7 should serve you well.
