What monitor?

I have around $300 / £200 to spend and want to get a 17" monitor, that does 1280 * 1024 * => 70Hz. I have had a look around so to speak, and CTX ones look pretty good?

A high quality 17" monitor would be a Sony G200 FD Trinitron. Flat screen and impressive specifications:

1024 x 768 @ 85Hz VESA
1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz VESA
1280 x 1024 @ 85Hz VESA
1600 x 1200 @ 75Hz VESA

But yes, the CTX ones are also high quality, although I believe the Sony one to be top of the line.

Simply Computers has them in stock for just under the 300 quid mark. Also, have a look for some monitor reviews on Cnet.com.

Yes definately, i love my Sony G400. BUT don't count out models from Samsung. I believe the 700NF is pretty impressive too.
